URBAN DEVELOPMENT IN KSA
Firstly, Urban development in KSA history shows us that interior design trends in Saudi Arabia change according to the beliefs, ideologies, and technologies available in each era. While architecture continues to grow and change.
And then distinguished patterns of traditional dwellings can be identified in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
ISLAMIC ARCHITECTURE
In general, three distinct styles of Islamic traditional dwellings can be identified in Saudi Arabia.
.HIJAZI ARCHITECTURE
It spreads in the western region of the Kingdom, where we find a hot, humid climate on the coast, which turns into a hot, dry climate as we head east to the interior.
Its building style is similar to the Levant and Egypt.
Since the environment is hot and humid, this method is distinguished by the use of the inner courtyard, which takes a regular shape such as square and rectangle, and there is a fountain or any of the water sources to moderate.
.NAJD ARCHITECTURE IN THE CENTRAL REGION OF THE KINGDOM
The presence of the inner courtyard, which not only acts as a climate softener, but also provides the highest levels. the architecture of this region derives its character from the surrounding desert environment. which is similar to the desert environment in some regions of Tunisia, Morocco and Iran, which use courtyards as a climatic solution.
I hope to see more of it developed soon.
.MODERN ARCHITECTURE
It is an equally important architectural period with a trend that includes a group of schools and architectural styles that have similar characteristics. which primarily share the simplification of forms and the rejection of ornamentation, which contradicts the original Islamic architectural methods and made them subject to harsh criticism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
but its importance lies in being a way to communicate with the outside world. Modern architecture is common to all developed countries of the world.
